Wax Plant
Hoya carnosa
Hoya Carnosa, commonly known as the Wax Plant or Waxflower, is a popular climbing or trailing vine native to East Asia and northern Australia. It features thick, fleshy, semi-succulent green leaves and produces spherical clusters of sweet-scented, star-shaped pink or white flowers with a waxy texture.

Expert Pruning Tip
Never prune the leafless flower spurs (peduncles) that remain after blooming! Hoya flowers re-bloom from these exact same spots year after year.

Beginner Friendly. Extremely low-maintenance and long-lived. Stores water in leaves; very tolerant of dry conditions.
Bright, indirect light. Needs high light to bloom, including a small amount of gentle morning sun. Protect from hot direct afternoon sun.
Very Low. Stores water in its succulent leaves. Allow the soil mix to dry out 100% before watering again. Water monthly in winter.
Super chunky, well-aerated epiphytic mix. Blend standard potting mix with 40% orchid bark and 20% perlite to ensure rapid drainage.
Resilient to dry air and air conditioning. Prefers warm indoor temperatures (above 15°C) and protection from heavy winter frost.
Stem cuttings. Propagates easily from stem cuttings with at least two nodes, rooted in water or damp perlite.
