Lacy Tree Philodendron

Philodendron bipinnatifidum

Philodendron bipinnatifidum, also known as the Lacy Tree Philodendron or Selloum, is a magnificent tropical semi-arborescent plant known for its dramatic, deeply lobed, ruffled green leaves. Growing on a stout woody trunk marked with attractive leaf scars, it can grow extremely large, making a major architectural statement. It is widely grown in warm-temperate and subtropical Australian gardens or as a large indoor statement plant.

Native Origin & Climate

Tropical and subtropical rainforests of Brazil, Bolivia, Argentina, and Paraguay.

Expert Pruning Tip

Trim old, yellowing outer leaves at the base of the petioles to keep the central trunk clean and reveal its ornamental eye-shaped leaf scars.
