Peace Lily
Spathiphyllum wallisii
The Peace Lily is a lush, dark-green foliage houseplant famous for its elegant, sail-like white flowers (spathes) and air-purifying capabilities. Native to the damp forest understories of Colombia and Venezuela, it is one of the most reliable and communicative indoor plants, visually dynamic and hard-working.
Native Origin & Climate
Damp, humid rainforest floors of Central and South America. Adapts perfectly to warm bathrooms and indoor spaces across Australia.
Expert Pruning Tip
Cut spent brown flower stems and dried leaves right down to the base of the plant using clean scissors to keep the clump looking lush and neat.

Localized Australian Care Taxonomy
Beginner Friendly. Easy to grow and very communicative—it dramatically droops its leaves when thirsty, showing you exactly when it needs care.
Prefers low-to-medium indirect light. Protect strictly from direct sun, which will shrivel flowers and burn leaf edges. Perfect for dimly lit rooms.
Moderate-to-high. Keep the soil slightly moist. Water thoroughly once the leaves start to flag or sag slightly. Needs watering about once a week in summer, less in winter.
Moisture-retentive but well-draining. Blend 70% premium indoor potting mix with 20% peat moss or coco coir and 10% perlite to hold moisture without compaction.
Loves high humidity. Thrives in bathrooms, kitchens, and tropical climates (QLD, Northern NSW). In dry southern winters, mist leaves or group with other plants.
Division of root clump during spring repotting. Gently separate crowns and plant in fresh, damp potting soil.
Lush, dense, and soft. Arching, glossy forest-green leaves topped by pristine white flowers that rise on slender stems above the foliage.
Bathrooms, bedrooms, shady office desks, or dark hallway tables. A fantastic option for low-light residential locations.
Indoor
Toxic:Contains calcium oxalate crystals. Chewing causes immediate oral burning, drooling, difficulty swallowing, and vomiting in dogs, cats, and kids.
